Relocation to the Sunshine Coast
New Migration Wave Emerges on the Sunshine Coast
Everyone has heard about the huge migration wave of baby boomers
making their way to a more relaxed lifestyle on the Sunshine
Coast, but according to high profile property advisor, Bernard
Salt, a new wave of migrating single women has recently emerged.
Mr Salt, a renowned author, business analyst and cultural trends
commentator was on the Sunshine Coast today to present his latest
findings to leading Sunshine Coast property and construction
identities.
Mr Salt said women in their late 30s who were coming
out of long-term relationships were packing their bags and heading
to the Sunshine Coast to reinvent themselves creating
an important new market for property developers and ongoing
demand for new housing.
This is creating a man drought on the Sunshine
Coast with cashed up women heading up households and making
solo decisions on property, he said.
Developers need to factor these households in to their
equation with safe, convenient and community oriented neighbourhoods
becoming an attractive destination for these households.
Mr Salt said when it came to the Sunshine Coast property market,
the best was yet to come with Queenslands resources boom
as well as continued growth in the property and construction
industries expected to help push up property values.
Figures released by the ABS last month showed that Queensland
created 107,000 new jobs in the 12 months ending June 2005.
This is the largest absolute increase in jobs in Queensland
in any year in over a quarter of a century.
Anyone who understands property knows that there is a
direct link between job growth and the capacity of the market
to take on a mortgage.
The booming Queensland economy, along with the continued
migration to the Sunshine Coast means that when it comes to
property investment in Queensland, the Sunshine Coast is one
of the premier destinations, he said.
